I have bought some batteries to use in my experimental off grid summerhouse, they were a good price but they may not be ideal however I have bought them now! The batteries are 12v Yuasa Endurance ENL100-FT and I have 8.

I am not yet ready to install them in their home (which hasn't been built) but I want to try and make sure they are looked after and charged properly. As I have not decided how I will configure the battery bank and also because I dont want to have to move them any more than is essential (40kg each) I was thinking of charging each with my CTEK battery charger/conditioner however I am not sure if this is a wise thing to do?

I know that ideally the battery bank should always be charged and discharged in a single configuration however is it OK to charge and condition the batteries singly as a short term measure?

Any other advice on keeping them in good condition would be appreciated.

Just join them all together & trickle/float charge them.

But do connect them so that they are balanced.

if you google around a bit you should find a spec sheet from yuasa - I found this one but there should be one with more info somewhere:-

it recommends 13.56v at 20C for float, and equalization at 14.4v <25A at 20C.

I would say if you are topping them up gently then if you can't parallel them it would be OK to do them individually. Ideally you want them all fully charged for when you connect them together.
