Battery Chargers

I currently have 3 x 250AH batteries and require a new charger to be ran off a 5 KVA Generator for when we have no sun. Is there a maximum charge output I should not exceed or is the 20 Amp charger off the Navitron website sufficient for the job? Many thanks.

In your situation I would want a charger far bigger than 20 amps.

I have a 5kw genny & my charger is 120 amps & I often run a 50 amp as well. I am looking at upping it to more like 200amps.

With your size of battery bank I would be looking in the 50-150 amp range.

Get a good 3 stage charger not a car charger.

Obviously it does all depend on how much you are actually using your system too. If your loads are very small then a smaller genny might be a better solution to go with a smaller charger.

Some batteries specify a maximum charging current during bulk.  You'll have to check the manual for your batts to find out.
