I've been reading a document that seems to be a really useful description of the causes of and remedies for corrosion in copper:

Excellent document.

Asan aside, you can get copper corrosion in systems containing ultra pure water brought on by changes in oxygen level. Dealt with by getting rid of the copper water interface and using St/Steel.
