Ive just been delivered a bit of stainless Selkirk flue.  I was expecting it to match the other stainless selkirk flue i have, which is all a shiny gloss finish, but this part is a matt finish.

Ive spent some time looking through the selkirk catalogs, and never noticed anything about finish types - i thought there was just the one.

So, has something changed?  Or have i ordered the wrong thing?

My other bits of flue are old.  Theyre a shiny finish, have a round selkirk sticker on them, and a logo embossed into the steel itself.

This fitting has a square selkirk sticker, and no embossed logo.  And is a matt finish.

Im suspecting the spec has changed between when mine was made and when this was made.

Hmm... i think ive just answered my own question -

From the pdf downloaded from selkirk's website -

The external skin it manufacture from 304 grade matt finish stainless steel

Good in that i dont have to muck about trying to swap parts / bad in that it doesnt visually match the other stuff i have!  (there are worse things in heaven and earth... : )
