My Battery-monitor  (no, i do not consider a Smartgauge  Wink)  shows much higher Voltage readings  when Battery electrolyte levels are low  ..... so  one asumes Battery in a good state  police.... after topping up with deionised water  i sometimes get a pale green face how low voltage is .....

Can this be ? ,  the lesser  electrolyte  , the higher the acid concentration = the higher the voltage readings  Roll Eyes

Interesting Billi, I have noticed an infinitesimally small drop in voltage after topping up batteries due to electrolyte dilution but I don't recall ever seeing a higher than usual voltage before. When you say 'low electrolyte', how low are you talking, bellow the plates?? if so I've never allowed mine to get so low, so wouldn't know. I'm a little obsessed with topping up batteries  Roll Eyes

Good luck, Paul
