Could I please have some opinions on the following off grid system, that I wish to purchase, that is within my budget?

I have taken loads of much needed advice off this forum and I am hoping I have got this right?

I do realise I have that the Inverter and the controller could be better and I would upgrade them in the future.

3x 250w poly panels.
2x 6v rolls batteries 460 amps each.
1 X 80 amp pwm controller.
1x modified 12v sine wave Inverter 500w.

I realise it's no world beater but it will probably keep me happy!

Thank you in advance.

Neil

Hello Neil,
Can I ask the specs of those panels,? Have you got your heart set on a 12volt system,?Could you up the voltage to 24volt,? add another 2 x rolls giving you a 460 amp x24volt,(Better to buy the batts together at one time)
You could even do without one of the 250 watt panels. These pv panels will dish out way over the rated 250watt in any kind of sunshine.

Hi Biff

Thanks for you comments.

I cannot really afford a 24v system at the moment tbh.

Also I will be treating this as my starter system.

I have no specs on the pv panels yet.

I have just budgeted for 3 at 250w.

Is there a certain thing within the specs I should look for if I run them on this system please?

Thank you

Neil

Or I could in fact afford 4x Trojan signature 6v batteries instead of the 2 rolls.

The Trojan batteries are 225a model t105.
