This is the MCS spreadsheet for calculating RHI payments. I've entered in the performance characteristics for the Navitron SFB30 panel (47mm diameter tubes). This is a 30tube panel. If you have more or less tubes you can change the 'area' figure as required (eg for 20tubes, you need 1.25m2 instead of 1.88m2)  This spreadsheet shows the RHI payments under the latest MCS/RHI calculation regime. You can play around with the spreadsheet - increase or decrease the size of the cylinder, water usage factors, no. of people etc, and see the effect on RHI payments.

If anyone wants me to, I'll do the same for the 58mm panel.

Disclaimer: I'm not guaranteeing it's error free - if anyone spots anything I've done wrong, send me a message and I'll correct it!

I'd be interested in a version for 30 x 58 tube please Ivan.

I started to change the parameters myself but did not have the coefficients for cell E20 and E21 for SFB58 panels

TIA

Thanks Ivan,

Note:  If you're Solar Thermal ETs are connected to a Thermal Store then RHI will not accept your application. Despite the original RHI stating renewable heat for Space and DHW, the 2014 version only accepts DHW.

So it's fine to use 19th century tech (OK still MCS approved, GD, EPC requirement) Solar Thermal to pour hot water down the drain but not to reduce your fossil fuel useage for space heating with a heat bank.

True, and it's quite mad - I've no idea why they omitted this (other than to save RHI payments). However, if you can use solar for commercial space-heating purposes, then I don't think there's any problem (thermal store or straight to space-heater radiators)

Good Evening All,

Can somebody advise if Solar ET's connected to a heat store still don't qualify for RHI payments please?

Regards
