 No let up today either
A good steady force 6 to 7 all day, a few short showers of rain and brilliant sunlight. Very cold around noon but lighting the stove around 5ish had the rads warm in 15 mins, both tanks were already full of roasty  toasty  water.

I was not paying attention,
Like I normally do and this one crept up on me around  3.30 pm, I had been changing a timing belt on my latest wheels and suddenly  it all got very uncomfortable.
, so I put everything back on the car, I was just in the process of slackening the nut on the crank pulley. Then I drove the car into the shed where I could work st it in comfort..The Turbine was braking and dumping with the wind coming in from the west, opposite  the winch..It was one of the fastest lowering that I ever did. I got the break, a lull and was out and going down fast before the next set of gusts came along ..It's  pretty brutal out there now
Even with the leaves gone from the trees, it is making some racket. They are getting good at forecasting. They said that the storm would break at 6pm and  increase on Sunday.   6 o clock came and right on time the real noise started. I had a feeling about this one. The direction  and strength was too chance,
Andy you will be getting it tomorrow morning. Good luck.

Grin, I'm not keen myself Tod,
Desperate hound woke me bang on 7am and  needed to visit the toilet. Potty time is one of the most vulnerable times that a dog can endure and with the wind buffering and the Turbine braking the poor thing wad as its wits end. Success brought relief and the two of us scampered off inside to be towelled down. The ashes are gone from the stove grate,  the controller reads 134vdc. The tail lifts and the prop dips out of the wind. The guys are strung like piano wire and the Tower is held steady and firm in position with the hub at 10ft..
There will obvious flooding and damage the ground cannot take any more water..back to bed and dreams of Claus.

Red alerts been issued for Kerry,
We have a little lull at the moment but by all accounts this storm Atiyai sounds like the real deal and should be with us very shortly.  Amazing bright sunlight at the moment. Our Turbine is cruising at 10feet clocking  134vdc so very comfortable for now. We had gusts for half an hour  last night  that shook the house. It's  been a good 5 years since that happened and  Atiyai is supposed to be travelling at 130km.

Aye Stann,
Mark Foley of Eirgrid is ecstatic this evening.
They have broken all records for power export to the UK .
I guess the thousands of houses without power from Donegal to Kerry cannot use their quota as the power lines are down so they can send the surplus East Grin.

Thanks for the heads up Biff.  We had a fairly mild blow here and as the turbine is still on the ground for servicing I slept easy in my bed. But thanks anyway
