I can't tell you what the actual grond temp was in the cases stated,

Marshman's isnt one of ours, we repair too many Danfoss units to fit them!

Yep in the SE very near the coast.

Thanks for the confidence boost on the reliability of the Thermia unit Jon !!!!!  Smiley  It's got a 3 year warranty and seems simple enough inside ................  time will tell.

Ha,  Smiley Jon, yes I did ask around after your useful comments, and I did find there were some issues about reliabilty on older units/designs but was assured that things had improved. The installer only installs Thermia units and says he has a stock of spares. He is fairly local and has been as good as his word so far and he also rates Ashcroft. So hopefully all will be ok.
