It has been a while since I used Sunny Explorer since it stopped working some time ago. I'm just now getting around to investigating.

I am using win10 and downloaded the lastest version of Sunny Explorer. In my bluetooth devices I am able to pair with my Sunny Boy inverter successfully. However when I open Sunny Explorer and do a searhc, it finds NetID2 which if i expand shows the SMA device. Then I click next to establish the connection and this step fails...

Any ideas? As mentioned within Win10 I can pair the device so the inverter is broadcasting, seems an issue with Sunny Explorer?

Thaanks in advance....

No idea but have you rebooted it? It could just be that you have failed connections remaining open.

If you have an Android based phone install the app "Oxley Solar" and see what happens when you try and connect.

One issue with many BT devices is that the connection is made to the BT module, but the main system may not be in a state to link to the BT module, so you may need to reset/reboot the inverter.

What is a BT device?

I re-installed Win10 (not to fix this issue, I was planning to install a new ssd drive) and it seems to have fixed the issue - shame I won't ever know what caused it though!

Thanks.

Hi
Probably totally wrong but I am sure the date format on most SMA devices is in a different order. Could that cause it?

Ok so maybe I should retract my last comment because I was able to fix my issue my uninstalling and then re-installing Sunny Explorer - so it seems that is the culprit rather than Sunny Explorer. I have seen some other posts which suggest that re-installing SunnyExplorer fixed was the solution to various issues.

Now when I check my logs I can see that the error regarding the expected time relates to a failed connection, either because the SV are not yet generating or have gone off line at the end of the day.

I have now had 3 days of continued connection and output so seems just reinstalling Sunny Explorer was the remedy.
