Anyone used Geocel Plumber Flue Joint Sealant around the metal registry plate of a WBS?

Its good to 250/300C.

If not, what have people used?

Does the registry plate really get that hot?

Im probably off to Wickes tonight so can get a tube if its suitable (temperature range) and any good.
