I'm keen to know how you guys access data from your batteries.

Can your controller see pv master app & vice versa?

I'm not sure, I don't think so...

I have a Lux inverter, it is connected to the RS485 port on the master battery. The Lux shows battery charge percentage. But other than that nada.

Ah, If a wi fi module could be added to the controller then you could go via an app. PV master gives a decent amount of battery data. Maybe there is a Lux version of similar?

The Lux comes wifi a wifi adapter, there's an app but the web portal provides much more data ......

Yeah I get all that.

Where do I find the status of each individual battery? I can only see the state of charge of the pack as a whole. How would I know if one battery wasn't working properly?

You don't, that's why you need Batteryview and a serial cable.

or if you like building stuff https://github.com/irekzielinski/Pylontech-Battery-Monitoring/

I built one and it works perfectly and i did a bit of extra work to feed the live data (sampled every 5 seconds) into a local emoncms. It allows me to get detailed information from the batteries without having to physically access the console port as all the data is accessible via WiFi. Highly recommended if you are a techy person.
