Very sad to hear of the death of Stephen Hawking. A life well lived despite of enormous handicap.
Here is a list of memorable quotes

Undoubtedly he was an inspiration to many scientists and also for those suffering from Motor Neurone disease, he was given only a couple of years to live in the early sixties I believe. Hawking radiation will shine on for a few hundred trillion years yet.

One of the UK's Greats. A sad loss, but a successful life despite his handicaps. Shine-on Stephen!

Entropy? Wink

If it is indeed the case, Stephen would know the reason, or want to know why... (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_Hawking#Religion_and_atheism)

A great pity he didn't get a Noble award. It seems that the committee prefer to honour things that are 'found' (experimental work) over things that are thought of (theory work)?

A fantastic man with great humor,
His comments on the Mensa tests, showed him to have been a man who did not put himself on a pedestal.
He was the new breed of forward thinking scientists who went to the bother of explaining thing in layman,s terms.
He will be a great loss to the world, as well as to his family and friends.
His dalliance with the Vatican and comment on Galileo brought a smile to their faces and showed that atheism does not have to be dour and soulless .
 Rest in Peace Stephen Hawking.
