I remember visiting a geothermal power station in Iceland a few years ago - amazing tech but of course there it's basically just there at the surface.  Hope this can be commercially effective here, that seems a long way down to have to drill.

First geothermal borehole?

I recall it being on Tomorrow's World I believe.
