Method mixed with Madness

« on: December 27, 2018, 11:17:20 AM »

I sometimes wondered what happens when a Wind-farm reaches end of useful life. Here is a demonstration:

GU14 (in the sunny souf)
1.140kW mono south-facing at 49*
EpEver 4210A at 24v
Nearly dead 24V 400 Ah battery. (4x200Ah FLA)
EpEver STI1000-24-230 pure sine inverter
Of course it'll work. (It hasn't caught fire yet).

It's impressive to see 'everything' being removed and then recycled Smiley

30 tubes, south facing gable wall (Navitron Fornax Trial System).  Hunter Herald 8, integrated boiler hooked up with Oil Boiler via H2 control panel.  Scrounging fire wood wherever possible Smiley

a lot  to read in German newspapers nowadays  , about the end of "EinspeisevergŁtung " (FiT) payments for some windparks   ,  nice or sweet  to read  actually , that  more or less conservative communities  , villages  want to keep  the windturbines to stay longer  ( sure the 20 year  investment and the FiT returns where  a good investment )  but beside that   one can read that the older windturbines will be able to turn or run longer than the 20 year FiT payment time , before they need major  repair ,   so it looks like many villages are getting quite creative how to self-consume the not  sponsored  units  norfolk garden

Happy new year

1.6 kw and 2.4 kw   PV array  , Outback MX 60 and FM80 charge controller  ,24 volt 1600 AH Battery ,6 Kw Victron inverter charger, 1.1 kw high head hydro turbine as a back up generator , 5 kw woodburner, 36 solar tubes with 360 l water tank, 1.6 kw  windturbine
