I've tried searching but...

I'm in the planning stages of a combined ASHP/WBS and thermal solar panel system.

The solar collector/panels are just plain flat panels nothing fancy or highly efficient, what heat output am I likely to get per square metre?

I appreciate there's many variables, however I'm not looking for anything highly accurate, its more of a finger in the air to get some estimates together for heat exchangers etc..

Sadly I'm not based on the equator, but in chilly Much Marcle, Herefordshire.

Annually around 400kWh/m2/year. On a shorter basis take 40% of incident radiation on PVGIS, instantaneously about 400W/m2. All for reasonable single glazed selective surface panels operating mostly below 60C. 25% more if not operating much above 40C

My proprietary flat plate panels which I purchased in 2005 gave an estimated 900kWh/annum at my location not far from you (Performance efficiency 79.9% at 55C).
So I guess it will depend on the detail of the panel and you would certainly seem safe designing on 400kWh/annum.
Unfortunately I have no measure of actual performance just the knowledge that 2.15m2 has given most of our hot water during the summer months for nearly 14 years.
