Went for a country drive with the other half yesterday.  Cheesy

Suddenly I stopped and shifted into reverse, parked, then jumped out. Grin

SHMBO wondered what was going on until I dropped a dead pheasant onto her lap. whistlie

Tomorrows dinner I excalaimed ! wackoteapot

Cats not sure whats going on. Huh
Nowty, I want it cooked, like that bronze Xmas turkey, not raw and wrapped in feathers. Angry



Im not too sure what to do with it either, but will have a go. Chop, chop, pluck, pluck ..... bike



Hmmmm, insides slimy and smelly. Lips Sealed



Its a bit hard work, but now begining to look like somthing from a supermarket. fingers crossed!
Although one leg has rigamortis. Shocked



Cooking with home grown onion, bay leaf, thyme and rosemary. ballspin



Roasted with green time shifted E7 elcey. fingers crossed!



Wow, its tender and very tasty, best I have had in years. extrahappy

I would second George, the lazy mans option skin for me. A cut along the breast then pull the skin and feathers back easy to take off the breasts peel back a bit more and expose the thigh and leg cut off the feet and done.  A friend at a local shoot occasionally gives me a brace as members can't be bothered to deal with feathers much to his disgust. All gratefully received.

Not a big fan of gamey meat myself Richard straight off the road is good for me!

A local shooter once told me that females have bigger breasts and taste better.  Wink (Not sure if he was pulling my leg as he was a bit of a wag)

Dunking chickens in hot (65C or so ) water for a minute makes removing the feathers much easier.  Does this apply to pheasants?

I agree does make chicken plucking much easier, pheasant skin is much more fragile and tears very easily, hence skinning.
