MCS accredition - post fitting

I have a ASHP at my home,, installed around 2009, all working fine, no issues, it’s just that the guy who installed in went bust and never got me the MCS cert for it so I could claim the incentive. I know it’s a while ago, but its only now I was really thinking of, what about validating it now. Would you know if its possible for a company to be able to come out and check it over, then sign it off/replace/change anything that needs doing so I can claim?

I too would be interested in this, as I've got a fully working ASHP currently with no accreditation.

Its impossible, application has to be made immeadiately on commisioning system. Now if you were to buy a new heat pump....

So you buy a HP in the past and you are now commissioning it.  Have a discussion with trader to take it out and refit and commission.  It cannot be the date of manufacture or of purchase but the date of COMMISSIONING.  The problem is finding the trader who does not want to to sell you a HP with a lovely profit.

I asked the initial question on a Facebook group, boy are they hostile over there, clearly wanting to protect themselves and profit margins

The problem is finding someone.

I did a similar thing with Solar PV but I had newly installed it.

Due to my job at the time I was using electricians and I asked if any knew of one that could do PV. I contacted someone who was mentioned and they agreed but it wasn't cheap. They came out and were very thorough checking everything I'd done.  After saying it was all OK they then said that they were having a discussion in the car on the way to me and were actually thinking they had made a mistake in coming to inspect someone else's work.

They actually offered me a job.

I hate the modern way where if you have a piece of paper that shows you can do the job. My professionally installed PV , done by a national company, that is now bust is awful.
