Hi Stann,

It's good to see a car company going full on into EVs in the UK.

I watch Tesla like a hawk for information on EVs and it seems to me that unless existing ICE car manufacturers start from scratch along the lines of Tesla's very clever design innovations, the cars they produce will be inferior and thus disappointing when they get to the market place and not very successful in the long term.

I think the UK's hidden hope is that our ICE production will collapse sooner than most other countries and leave us with that necessary blank piece of paper a few years earlier than everybody else and thus get us a head start in 5-10 years time.

I would guess that maybe in 3-4 years, Tesla will announce a smaller city car for around 20K.

Just saying.

They've been talking about replacing the XJ with a completely new full EV platform for a while, guess this is it.
Let's hope they get something in the ground before the company goes bust.

Someone needs to sort out public charging for any Tesla competitor to stand a chance. It needs multiple rapid chargers 8-10+ at each motorway services and some kind of connection to sat navs in various cars so people know what is available where. I'm not a fan of government intervention but the current situation of the Electric Highway hogging all the prime sites and making no investment at all is holding back ev adoption.
