Looking at the picture of the invertor PCB sat in the bottom of the case and the MOSFETS along the side, it does not look like the device was designed for easy PCB removal. I believe the fault evidence lies blow the PCB on the tracks. i.e. a dry joint or a small section of burned track.

Mine burnt out because the resin flux was not cleaned from the PCB after manufacture. Plant material moulders and starts to conduct at 230VAC. It flashed, arced, burnt and relegated itself to the parts bin. The case will come in handy, as will some of the components. I've since bought a 1 kW low-side conversion pure sine inverter from EpEver, that I do not over-stress, so will hopefully last a reasonable time. (Other brands are available).

1.140kW mono south-facing at 49*
EpEver 4210A at 24v
New (Old) 8S7P LiFe battery, 105Ah @ 26.4V
EpEver STI1000-24-230 pure sine inverter
Of course it'll work. (It hasn't caught fire yet).
