Anyone have a thought on GRID battery storage? Trades on LSE in specialist fund section. I would like to invest in energy storage on a decent scale going forward? I really don't like to think of wt being knocked offline.

Grid-scale batteries are going in all over the place, it's happening now.
As to investing in renewable infrastructure - the way I do it is through the website Abundance Investments - they had a couple of investment schemes for a new pumped hydro storage installation which I put some cash into, and recently they'ave also had CHP, lots of wind and solar farms and also the Tidal scheme up in the waters off Orkney.

Other than that I don't know, probably you're into venture capital raises.

I have 2 x 3kw immersions which heat my 300L thermal store. Im wondering even with no solar yet maybe the octopus tariff might work out well for me, buy a posh timmer for them both and just use on negative pricing hours. Any advice?

There's another quite long Octopus Agile Plunge tonight from between 3am-8am, and then again in the afternoon from noon until 3.30pm  (excepting one 30min period at 1pm when it goes back to a horrendously expensive 0.92p/kWh)

Start your energy consumption plans!

I presume you mean Gresham House Energy Storage which has the ticker code of GRID.

I hold them along with the following greenish type of LSE quoted investments,

Gresham House Energy Storage (GRID)
Gore Street Energy Storage Fund (GSF)
Greencoat UK Wind (UKW)
Bluefield Solar Income Fund (BSIF)
Renewables Infrastructure Grp (TRIG)
Foresight Solar (FSFL)
JLEN Environmental Assets Group (JLEN)
NextEnergy Solar (NESF)
US Solar Fund (USFP)
GCP Infrastructure Investment (GCP)
Ecofin Global Utilities & Infra (EGL)
Impax Environmental Markets (IEM)
SDCL Energy Efficiency Income (SEIT)
Ventus VCT (VEN)
Ventus VCT 2 (VEN2)

That's the fella, sure I noticed a 2%+ amc on GRID on a investment page when doing a flyby on them which seemed not poss if they are a true share? I think maybe they are a fund in truth which is ok but priciple wont let me invest in something with a 2% amc. Maybe not, could be wrong must drill down further on that one as I do like the idea of up scaled storage investment.

For the current investment season we went heavy into NESF, FSFL, SSE & TRIG. Along with the Welsh turbine of course! Smiley Thanks for the list Nowty, I'll have a look at all of them.

According to the following link from RTE in France, one can see a heat map of western European electricity prices throughout the day. At 0600 CET the UK electricity price drops down to -16.71Euro /kWh.

Tried copying the image onto this page and failed , hence the link.

Nice one Tod, a lot to read and some good advice therein. I might have a crack at Orsted next time round in Sept.

On the dashboard of my account it shows:

Would you like a smart meter?
