I quite enjoy his acerbic posts and obsession with lead justification based on god knows what infraction, real or imagined, yet there he was shouting it out for lead and electrons! A clever guy, bit eliptical sometimes yet well worth a read, where's he gone?

If he's been kicked off he should be let back in. Being an opinionated obsessive doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to play, just wind it in a bit? I miss him! Smiley

He hasn't been kicked out. He appears to have removed himself.

he appears to have gone over to fieldlines forum - I had assumed he'd been kicked off here TBH, but maybe someone here offended him?

I always enjoyed his posts.

However I never did have the slightest clue what he was on about.

He has been a member of Fieldlines for years.
He is also a moderator on another forum.
Ted has just told you that he has not been kicked off the forum. He seems to have removed a load of his posts.
He was still a registered member the last time I looked.
We enjoyed his posts and who knows maybe he will return and give is more answers to our electrical problems,

I think it was this post that likely led to him up-anchoring and leaving.  Perhaps the cap fitted too well?

He Told former regular Navi forum contributor, ClockmanFra who also resides on the other forum, that we are a bunch of armchair warriors and more doing on the other site.

I to miss his contribution,  I also think the lead versus lithium battery issue got to him big time.

It's a shame that he's decided to delete himself, but if I'm totally honest I was starting to feel like many of his more critically negative posts were being aimed at me personally, which was occasionally a bit upsetting.

I don't do politics or power-struggles; I read and learn, I watch and listen, I teach to the best of my knowledge and ability.
I have gone through the mill of learning that My opinion did not necessarily match that of everyone else, so learned to shut up and 'let them get on with it'.
It is a forum after all, not a government by decibel diplomacy - Open discussion allows us all to look at the experience of others, then form our own way of doing things without telling others they are necessarily wrong.

Pedantic I know, however, chopping onions one way compared to the other damages the cellular structure producing far more acidity compared to the sweetness that many prefer.

Orbitally sliced onions give off the maximum acrid pungency we all hate to smell in the fridge, ..recommend to be cut pops to pole (stem to root) ..however it is the sharpness that often puts a kid off them in the early (at home years). 😉

I am led to believe that onion cells are longer from pole-to-pole, so cutting lengthways reduces the number of cells penetrated, and hence the tears incurred by onion-juice spray.
Your move...

Which is what I said.

It's to do with the precursors, ..therefore the maximum cellular damage is achieved via dicing rather than slicing.

But technically no the end product is not the same, that's the point, such is the difference in taste.

...however There is no doubt that scruff wanted to see more projects, likely homebrew, of which this place tends to be lacking these days,  turbines few & far between (space & laws of a small island) ..I recently took a washing machine apart & didn't bother to offer the parts here because gamers for the magnet ring at all just wouldn't have moved like it used to,  it's more box bought high end plug n play, no  Dhaslam, gravyminer, frotter type projects to keep abreast of any more.

& whereas 16 years ago a well maintained log store & woodburner was a valuable alternative to oil (here) you may well now get shot down for owning one here, ..never  mind the efficiency nor measurements of how it may change / not localised air pollution.

Martin's bee's went with Martin ditto much similar subjects he was keen on espousing, thus talk dwindles.

Maturation of a site or more sites out there, I don't know.

There is malice - or something akin to that - intended, when posts are deleted when leaving.  Not the usual departure on reasonable terms.
