I know we're talking chicken feed in the grand scheme of things, but I really do think the plastic bag tax has been a success.

On the downside since the partial reopening, the unwelcome reappearance  of McDonald's and KFC  rubbish, the wrappers not the content. stir

I read somewhere that the plastic bag tax was entirely ineffective for two reasons:
    - The "bags for life" that replaced disposable carrier bags use a lot more plastic than the product they replaced.
    - The sale of plastic bin bags has increaced.
