That is quite an achievement. Does anyone know the sort of scale of uk battery storage as is and future plans?

Seems to be around 1GW at present with another 4 GW planned. https://www.gov.uk/government/news/battery-storage-boost-to-power-greener-electricity-grid

However how much of this is real and how much is hype I have no idea. As usual they only give a power not an energy depsite taling about energy storage.

Can someone help me put this into perspective - how big an area is South Australia (I know it's huge, so it's more than football pitch-equivalent), and what population?

Either way it's damned impressive.  Got to love technology sometimes.

South Australia is about 4 times the size of the UK but a population of only about 1.75 million. No idea how football pitches somone else can calculate that if yo need to know  Grin
