Meanwhile, in the US of A, a chap has built what is believed to be the first install of a Tesla PowerPack in a fully off-grid, domestic build.



That's 232kWh of battery capacity, with a max discharge power of 50kW.
He has a 28kWp solar array for power and is fully off grid.

That's one heck of a set-up.

Have to say that's some system, and on a good day generating 7 to 8kWh/kWp that PV system could fill the battery. I'm gonna assume he/she owns a BEV too?

Yeah I asked him and he has two EVs as well, so has two chargers!  He said that the local utility company wanted to charge $1.1 million dollars a mile to run power to his premises, and he's over a mile away from the nearest transformer, so he decided to go all in on being off-grid instead.   Guess he had a fair bit of cash to splash.
